Leiter down, Anderson up

The Texas Rangers have purchased the contract of pitcher Shaun Anderson from AAA Round Rock, the team announced today. To make room for Anderson on the 40 man roster, the Rangers have transferred pitcher Max Scherzer from the 15 day injured list to the 60 day injured list. To make room for Anderson on the active roster, the Rangers have optioned pitcher Jack Leiter to AAA Round Rock.

Leiter being sent down after yesterday’s game is not a surprise, given how he hammered yesterday, and given that Dane Dunning should be able to be activated the next time the Rangers need a starting pitcher in that spot in the rotation.
