TUCSON, Ariz. – University of North Carolina outfielder Vance Honeycutt was named to the 2022 Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-America Team, the publication announced Wednesday morning.
Honeycutt has started all 62 games in center field for the Tar Heels this season and leads the team in home runs (24), OPS (1.063), runs (65), slugging percentage (.663), stolen bases (29), total bases (161) and triples (4). His 24 homers are a Carolina freshman record and tied for the most single season home runs in program history.
Earlier this season he became the first 20-20 player in school history, hitting 20 home runs and stealing 20 bases in the same season.
